¨The Lord of the Flies¨ is the dead pigs head on the stick right? This represents savagery. At the beginning of the story they did not even dare kill the pig. By the end they were slicing it and eating it tastefully. Another them is represents is chaos and evil. The way the boys reacted and what they dared do evolves more and more as the story goes on. They are all attracted to the pig’s head, and the idea of it is inside of all of them.

The Lord of the Flies was essentially a declaration that all society and innocence had left the island and it was being rapidly consumed by chaos and evil. The other possible metaphor is that the island had become the lord and the boys were flies. They had no society, they were unorganized, they were filthy and they would kill if it meant survival. This sort of behavior is much like that of flies, I guess. Overall, They had been consumed by this mob mentality that made them resort to fear and violence, and the Lord of the Flies proudly made sure of that.

I agree with what Nathan had said in the earlier post. The Lord of the Flies is "a declaration that all society and innocence had left the island and it was being rapidly consumed by chaos and evil." Those were Nathan's smart words. And it is true. The Lord of the Flies is a symbol of chaos and evil that thrives through an island and is representing the chaos and evil that is upcoming in the modern world of today. It alludes to society today and how it must be stopped. This is an excellent work of literature by William Golding.

The Lord of the Flies is proudly the lord of nothing. The lord of filthy little insect that have no order and just swarm around meat and filthy wastes. The title relates to the events of the novel and the themes of the novel because the boys explored their savage side and lost their innocence through the hunt and kill of pigs. Furthermore they even beheaded the creature and offered that to a beastie they weren't even sure existed. Also, with the death of Piggy and the Lord of the Flies is a pig head, the boys lost the last boy, after Simon's death, that had any reason. At the same time we must remember that the last traces of law and order which were represented by the conch, shattered with the poor fat kid. That is how the title "The Lord of the Flies" fits the events and themes of itself.

The title of the novel relates to the scene in which Simon talks to the sow's head on the stick.
As Sergio said, this scene representes the chaos that is occuring in the world right now.
I also thing of this scene as a turning point in the novel. From this point on, everything starts to crumble down.

The title of the book, wich is "Lord of the Flies", relates to the event when Simon speaks to the Pig's head, which later is revealed that is called "The Lord of the Flies." It also relates as representing evil, because the name means "the devil," like that it states that the devil took over on what went on in the book - causing chaos - and why the boys were acting barbaric, and well, evil against each other, especially Jack.
