Golding really tries to let a person go along with the characters.
For example; the accents of the boys. You can sort of picture this book as a movie in your head, and not only because of vivid imagery but also because of the very detailed parts on the boys individually.
Also what i mentioned about the imagery. He explains everything, and puts some sort of symbolism behind it all.
Something that i really payed attention to was Piggy's death. For some reason the part of the liquid coming out of his head made me think "braincells". So i felt like it was the intellegence spilling out on the rocks and being washed away. Then again others might just think "Oh ICKY brain stew". But Golding lets you really think and imagine your own things. He gives you a lot of detail but he doesn't determine the meaning of everything, he allows you space to think. That makes it so interesting to discuss the novel you can think about it in your own way.
I agree with suzanne. This book exhibits great imagery and really communicates the character's feelings and their surrounding to readers.
"The Lord of the Flies", by William Golding, became a world success when it was published and it is read throughout the whole world until this very day.
Its vivid descriptions, realistic setting, important messages, and understandable characters, make the story very interesting and creative.
Golding is brilliant. That is all i can say...
His use of imagery and all of that makes it feel as if you were there in the book.
This also helped with the Journal project. :)
There are times that we encounter fear and disappointments in life yet we still manage to stand up straight and face it rather than being silent.
